why the crashes, lockups, and terrible word-processsor

Am I the only one who dreads doing anything on this site because the word-processor gets slower and slower...starts missing keytstrokes until I have to type about 1 stroke a second...and eventually locks up completely. After using the WP, I typically experience problems with subssequent programs and evenutally have to re-boot. I am on a PC, running W7, using Norton security. Is this just me? --
