"Small sensors are needed for such smallish camera's, in case you didn't know."

Poor ignorant fool. there ARE some larger sensor models in that roundup... you might check the specs before...

Poor ignorant fool. the RX100 has a 1" sensor, Fuji has a 2/3" sensor...
the specs are right there for you...

  • thanks Richard!

  • @DPR: sensor size is incorrect.
if the outer perimeter is being thrown away, it is obviously not the actual sensor size being used.
please correct the specs, so we can better compare with 1"...

  • In a world where everything is done via digital editing effects, there are many features I see advertised that can simply be accomplished with a small aperture, and defocusing effect in Lightroom...

  • I think you have hit the nail on the head... the one application where you can't substitute with software editing effects.

  • the camera selection in the other category, "high end compacts" with a "large sensor (larger than smartphone)" is wrong too.
    it's a bit ridiculous, really.

  • @DPR, with a title like that "High End Compact Roundup"...

one would expect an Actual Roundup of High-End compacts.

But no... 3 out of 6 have a tiny sensor, 1 has a very small sensor, of which...

(wait, I'll read the reviews to find out)

  • Wish they had this for Samsung NC mount too.

...then again, they might not sell any, given that the excellent Samsung 45mm, (albeit) f1.8 goes for only $200.
