  • Having shallow DOF is part of my photographic style and I incorporate it into my images more often than not.

A Fuji X-T1 with the 35 f1.4 even at 1.4 does not get anywhere near the my D600 with a...

  • Rooru S,

Sony products are not exclusively made and or sold in Japan. Your comment is way, way off.

  • The output will most likely have very good IQ to go with the fantastic performance and ergonomics.

It is laughable that some people on this forum consider themselves photographers, then proceed to...

  • Zeisschen,

Sony has a few lenses, and in combination with their bodies, the output is mediocre autofocus. Manual focus and adapters are obviously an option, but becomes impractical for most...

  • I hope people are not fooled with fps bs as they were with megapixels. After a certain threshold, more is not necessarily better. IMHO, 6-8 is the sweet spot. Is 10fps really better than 8fps? ...

  • It seems that from a performance point of view, the 7DII is on a league of its own in DX world. No other camera matches it. Not by a long shot.

What we need to understand, which will be sooner...

  • macky,

That was one of the best posts I have seen in a while.

  • hazydave,

It has been discussed to death here, which I will not do again, regarding sensors and IQ and the algorithms leveraging the sensor. So...one, notice I said Sony has good IQ (so don't try...

  • nathondetroit,

When mirrorless become the better cameras, working professionals will be the first ones to jump ship. But as of now, that is not the case.

    The best mirrorless (the A7s...

  • Tell us which mirrorless camera comes even remotely close then.

The way I see it is like this:

Sony - below par focusing, no lenses, good IQ
Fuji - below par focusing, good IQ
    Oly/Pana - below...

  • No Chief. My mid range FF camera will get better output for landscapes, portraits, low light, and everything in between. The 7DMKII will beat it when it comes to high burst / spray and pray, but...

  • Fair enough. Shoot your "high quality" video with that phone then.

  • When I purchased my D7000 about 4 years ago there was this bogus rumor that DSLR days were numbered. Any day now, right?

  • Photato,
That is a terrible comparison. Go shoot sports with the A7s...it is useless for such task.

  • AZBlue,

Wait 6 months for the D850, and 6 months later the D860 will best it. And 6 months after that, the D900 will come out.

And if you wait 5 years, you will be able to get a camera better...

  • The D610 is a superb camera, and can be had for $1.4K. Think about it, the OMD-EM1, which many people wet their pants about costs the same, yet delivers output closer to a point and shoot (it has...

The D800 was a failure? Lol. Other than its successor the D810, the D800 has the best IQ vs everything else, period. Seriously, 3 yrs later, only the a7s rivals it. No so bad for a failure...
