  • I have RX100 and everybody knows it is super small. But put it against x10 and you would realize that the rx100 is about maybe 80% of x10, it just the x10 looks bigger because of the many knobs and...

  • I don't see need to stuff big sensor in a small body for enthusiastic.
Even the small sensors in $600 cams should produce a significantly better image than a high end smartphone otherwise people...

  • This is stupid sorry to say it as I see it, to make "social-oriented" camera. The best social-oriented camera is called smartphone and it is already in pocket of everybody who is into this self...

  • Commented on Hands-on with the Pentax K-S1 article

In my neck of the woods pentax is not successful at all. No big box store like best buy carry any of the K or Q and the specialized photo stores have just extremely limited stock of the latest...

  • Commented on Hands-on with the Pentax K-S1 article

The only problem I have with pentax is their naming conventions. It is total mess with adding letters and numbers that are in descending order after the K. All the K-x, K-r, K-s.. get some system!

  • Tiny add-on flash is usually a very cheap solution, while add-on EVF would cost hundreds of dollars. Modern cameras are amazing even in dark and give more natural look without the flatness and...

  • Wow, pretty nifty camera. It is interesting how everybody can now squeeze large sensor into a compact body...

  • Looking forward the new fw for x100s

  • Well duh, I assume everyone knows those basics. But how about to dig deep, how photon excites the well, how the well size affect effectivity, a crosstalk between pixels wen electrons jump and all...

  • How does it relate to the WB set in your camera? I assume if you going with a calibration you don't use AWB, right? or it will mess up the whole thing. So you set your WB to say daylight, shoot the...

  • Reading many of the comments I got finally completely confused. There are totally contradictory statements which shows that we (as a group) actually don't have any idea how sensor technology works....

  • "You won't see increased noise in this masked sensor..."
    "Yes, you will."
Such statement is exactly why this topic is such a mess. Me personally I have absolutely no idea why masking part of the...

  • Those are really something!

  • I thing the guy behind it must be a marketing genius to get so much venture capital behind him. Some nifty way of persuasion. In our local store they have one open box lytro camera for more than a...

  • "Thanks to the FZ1000's silent mode, this Seattle PD officer had no idea that I was taking his photo. ISO 125, 1/500 sec, f/4, 260mm equiv."
    Now he has.
