  • Commented on 20101126-150946b in the Jaipur, India challenge

Lazy and meaningless title. Overall effect would be better if 5 seconds had been taken in the submission phase to add a title that tells us something. Or, to remove any title, which also would...

  • Commented on COBRA CHARMER001 in the Jaipur, India challenge

I like the composition. But the snake is out of focus, which is a pity. I think the shot would have been more effective with both the snake and the charmer's face tack-sharp.

    It was a good idea...

  • Commented on PMS_9865 in the Jaipur, India challenge

Adding the info in the description is great. Offset a bit by the lazy and meaningless title. Having no title at all would be much better than what you used.

("Galtaji Temple" would be an example...

  • Commented on IMG_ (99) copyCROP in the Jaipur, India challenge

Nice image. Terrible title. Far better to have no title at all than to have a lazy and meaningless one.

  • Commented on Hareem in Jaipour in the Jaipur, India challenge

Interesting composition--the wall is usually photographed much more close-up. If you had taken the photo at a "better" time of day (ie, with nice light), it would have turned out better, I think. ...

  • Commented on The Taj Mahal in the Taj Mahal challenge

Don't worry about it too much. We were all beginning photographers at one point. Once you've had 6 months of experience, using simple (but more advanced) functions will be like second-nature . ....

  • Commented on The Taj in the Taj Mahal challenge

I'm kind of amazing by this shot. I was in the same location (I am guessing) . . . one particular room in the Red Fort.

But I shot with a 480mm lens and my result was much "wider."

    Did you crop...

  • Commented on Forced Perspective challenge

There are some really clever compositions in this challenge . . . some doing things I'd never have thought of.

There are also several that clearly did not understand what "forced perspective"...

  • Commented on Frame in the Forced Perspective challenge

What is the forced perspective in this image? I see a subject, in focus, standing in front of a background, which is out of focus? In what way does this fit into the challenge theme???

  • Commented on High jump in the Forced Perspective challenge

Perfect example of the challenge's theme.

  • Very clever and funny composition. Way to embrace the idea of the challenge and take it in an unexpected direction! :-)

  • Very nice composition, and very soothing mood. Quite lovely.

  • Commented on Jaipur, India challenge

I have a feeling that this challenge is gonna get a bunch of the Hawa Majal. (Which makes sense--it's really a spectacular site.)

  • Commented on DSC_0029low in the Taj Mahal challenge

Meaningless title. Worse than having no title at all.

  • Commented on DSC_4304 in the Taj Mahal challenge

I like the composition. I hate the lazy and meaningless title . . . much worse than having no title at all.

  • Submitted a challenge entry sunset, from across the river
I don't understand why more people don't view the Taj from this side . . . it's just lovely, and few or no other people around.
Placed 4th in the challenge. I don't understand why more people don't view the Taj from this side . . . it's just lovely, and few or no other people around.
  • Commented on PMS_0172_v1.1 in the Taj Mahal challenge

I really like the unusual composition. I hate the title . . . lazy and meaningless. Far worse than having no title at all.

  • Commented on Love gate in the Taj Mahal challenge

It's hard to find a "fresh" take on a site that has been photographed as much as the Taj has. You've succeeded in this wonderfully.

    Really nice composition.

  • Perfect image for this challenge theme.

I tend to hate "fake old" borders on newly-taken images (which all digital, non-scanned, images are, of course). But it totally works here . . . your...

  • I love how you really captured the challenge theme.

I love how you have two subjects--both with a smile and both clearly tired.

I hate your title. It's lazy and is meaningless to anyone but you....
