  • Carlos,

It looks like there's some variety of raw output, that's from the Pana website.

  • Carlos:

Okay that link doesn't say anything about raw output.

I guess I just don't know if HDMI always means raw output.

  • Carlos:

Right, but the question wasn't really about hdmi output, or even raw capture.

Can the GH4 capture raw on an external recorder?

It doesn't look like it does from the specs at B+H.

  • marc:

So I rechecked my XZ10 raws, and they are amazing through ISO 1250 and very very good at ISO 2000.

If you want see good raw from this small sensored camera go to PhotoGraphyBlog.

    And nope,...

I didn't ask if you own an XZ10.

    I don't own an XZ10.

I rarely share raws, wouldn't likely share my jpegs to make my point, but I'm quite certain they be very very good through ISO...

  • duly,

I don't think that's the joke, and with a some talent, and the right gear, a soccer mom could perhaps take some of the shots to a high standard.

As I'm sure you realize: Lower...

How do you know the NX1 and GH4 weren't factors in Canon's decision?

    Do you work for Canon?

The fact remains that DPR skipped mention of the other mirrorless that shoots 4K...

    Jpg or raw?

  • Dave Oddie,

Sony doesn't make the sensors in the Nikon D4S or Df. And many would argue those are the best current sensors.

Those sensors are made by Renesas, likely engineered by Nikon....

  • bluevellet:

But the point isn't so much about Samsung, it's about neglecting a stills camera, one of very few, that also shoots 4K internally.

    The A7S doesn't record 4K internally. I guess the...

  • And the Sony A7S doesn't record 4K internally.

  • Both:

There's more to sensors than pixel counts.

There are other very good sensor makers than Sony; Renesas and Toshiba spring to mind, and Panasonic and parterns.

  • Lassoni–

Why have you linked a jpg?
Also, the D800 has big dynamic range problems above base ISO, this alone would be a problem that the D700/D3 doesn’t have.

    It’s been a while since I’ve...

    From the Wikipedia Ultrabook standards:

That laptop is too fat for the 2012 14" screen standards.

The standards get a bit fatter the next year, and it would qualify.
