  • God you m4/3s users like to project your inferiority complex concerning your chosen sensor size on to others. It is really getting old. FF users don't' care at all a bigger format is available....

  • Well it's probably a safe bet that the D820 will be a FF version of this body style. Probably it will be slightly bigger, have 42mp, do 6fps in FX 7-8 in crop, but otherwise it will basically be a...

  • Umm no. That is the most silly thing I have read here. Firstly for what it's designed for the D500 will easily run circles around any mirrorless ever made or that probably will ever be made in...

  • I have a feeling there was a lot more demand for this camera than Nikon suspected. Which is probably why it took so long to be offered in the first place and when it finally was, probably just so...

  • @EthanP99

Right those features are just an incremental update. Those are all things the camera basically had to have improved to even be considered an upgrade to the A6000. So not that exciting...

  • Yep so does calling the AF "incredible" based only on Sony's marketing copy without ever having used it.

  • Look this is real simple. Either you need what this camera offers or you don't. If you don't there are much better cameras for you in Canon's/Nikon's/Sony's lineup but if you do need this type...

  • Yeah it's just like when the D500 (Pro DX sports camera that specs, controls, and features wise is basically a mini D5 ) came out and people were asking why they shouldn't just get the D750...

  • Sony tried that and couldn't compete. Which is why they went SLT which also couldn't compete Since it didn't do anything better and wasn't different enough. So Instead most people just bought a...

  • Well to be fair if a DSLR can do the job, the go pro wasn't the right camera for them in the first place. It is not a general purpose video camera. The GoPro is meant for POV action/sports stuff....

  • This is especially bad news for go pro with Nikon's KeyMission, only the first in a lineup of action cams according the marketing copy, looming on the horizon.

Yeah the pop up flash is great for a quick fill if you don't' have a speed light with you or as a commander but it is really a stop gap for people building a kit. Something that is only used until...

Yep I would not be surprised at all if D850 body is basically a D500 with the 42 mp Sony FF sensor and less fps.

  • Commented on article Top 5: Hands-on with Nikon D500

The problem it solves is it is a pro level action camera below the D5 price point and size and is a pro DX body for those who want/need one. I mean it's really not that hard to figure out. IF...

How so? It's exactly what you would expect from Nikon. It's basically a straight repeat of the D3/D300 combo.

  • Commented on article Top 5: Hands-on with Nikon D500

Sorry but a D500 or a D5 does not even come close to "superseding" my D800. In fact if someone wanted to trade me a D500 for my D800 I would laugh in their face ( I would take a D5 though due the...

    @RPJG
The D500 is does not have the pop up flash. Probably to cement it's mini D5, pro feel and to promote the use Nikon's new SB-5000 with built in radio triggering.

I fail to see how gbvalli was lying. He is right on the money. If you don't ' need the action capabilities of the D500 the D750 is the better choice for the money for most people. Heck if you...

He is talking about trade-ins at camera retailers who typically make low ball offers on used gear since they have to resell it for a profit. You get a lot more money selling it used yourself.

  • Commented on article Top 5: Hands-on with Nikon D500

If you don't shoot action all the time than keeping the D7200 is 100% the right choice. It's that simple. The D500 is a pro action cam first and foremost. It s meant to be a mini D5 with a DX...
