The focal length is a bit long on a crop but the 1.4 is a good performer and makes a good portrait lense on a crop.

This is an amazing lens, great for macro work and short telephoto use. Great portrait lens when you want to have some distance from the subject.

What can one say about the 7D, a fantastic camera that does all I want, only way to improve it would be an APS-H sensor and update some of features I think

My first canon, bought second hand to replace my stolen Contax. I kept it for about 20 years, it was a tough bit if kit, withstanding the abuse of an african safari, tramping through rain forests in Bali, being neglected in Australia.
