On Pentax launches K-S1 Sweets Collection article (233 comments in total)

Dear Pentax,

Can you please make a old bolex style camcorder , which has a C mouth and Q series sensor.

Why not ! :)

Amazing and childishly brave !

Man, what would you do if a bee hits you ! Or your appendicitis explode suddenly ! A single toothache... Man !

That's brave !

Panasonic listen to this;

You have made a 20mm F 1.7 pancake.... Then you made 14mm F 2.5 pancake.

Now can you make something in between and still pancake ?

Something like 17,5mm F 1.8 for example... And still pancake.

Thank you.

Ben O Connor: EISA just annoucned, They have given the "Ugliest Add on Flash" award to Panasonic.

Long story short; this camera has no superlatives over gx7. However it has the best multipurpose lens on it ever made for m43 system.

Besides gx7 is a body only camera. So its not any better at all. I wish to see smilar spec. lens even bigger (as big as Olympus 40-150 4.0-5.6)

Ben O Connor: Because "Gx7+15mm1.7+25mm1.4+45mm1.8+camera bag" are more expensive than "lx100+leather strap" !!!!!!

I haven't say, but many mist realized; M43 is an excellent compact way of system cameras. Yet ita good to have all the juice under the same "thing" .

Best of the best in compactness/image quality.

Well handled reds. I tried to take some flower fotos which were extremely red. It was very hard to define color depth etc.

Very well.

On Hands-on with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 article (272 comments in total)

Almost Everything is fine !

Forexample; look at the size of this 35-100mm !!! STUNNING. Its already one of the most compact lenses of all (excluding Q mouth of Pentax) and it goes even smaller! And new touched pancake 14mm F 2.5 (Sad its not 12mm... anyway),

But I have dificulties to understand, why no tilting screen ? On GX7, oth EVF and screen dances, in this one none of them ! Yet flash is not built in ! Oh Panasonic....

İts like rolex watch. Surely there are multi functional army watches by far better priced from Casio
Or there are thousand other car brands. No need the drive Rolls-Royce ...

IT - IS - A -UNIQUE - LUXURY- ITEM !!!

I also don't see ANY logic to buy something exact same than Panasonic models. But this one is UNIQUE !

Its a beautifull 35mm F 1.7 Leica lens on a beautiful metal/leather body. And still complains.

4K.... what 4K many of you still has tv with tube and listening music via winamp !!! STOP COMPLAININ' !!!

Old Baldy: Nice camera! It hits a lot of my personal preferences.

But then, for pure IQ, it does not match a brand new old stock NEX-5T with a fantastically sharp Zeiss 32mm f/1.8 lens for similar price ($348+$720 = $1068) or the 5T + the three really strong Sigma primes 19mm, 30mm, 60mm $348+$199+$199+$209 = $955 - albeit with the zoom flexibility and slightly smaller size.

Pros of the LX vs the 5T+Zeiss
- better video (if that's important to you.)
- smaller, more pocketable. Perhaps its biggest advantage?
- nicer build?
- built-in VF (instead of optional add-on. Albeit fixed)
- better controls/menu system?

Cons
- Doesn't have the touchscreen (very useful to me)
- Doesn't have the tilting screen (very useful to me)
- Lower IQ
- Lens not as bright
- weaker high ISO performance
- lack of lens flexibility (telephoto, macro etc)

Regardless, this seems to be an intelligently designed, very capable and desirable camera. Would love to put one thru its paces!

Thank you Baldy, to check my photography and came all the way to reply.

As you checked my photography I've checked others. DPR studio and sample photos etc. Also I used to own a p&s Sony back in 2008. So my words are truly my own, personal decision.

İf it would be a beauty contest, Leica X. You'd already impressed the jurry by your intelligence as well !

Ben O Connor: Dear Panasonic,

Cam I ask you that "why do you annoy me by missing built-in flash !!!!"

Did Olympus teach you so ? Mein God....

What sacrifice !

Its not a GM camera ! Hence final product is far from being pocketable. Flash could be with it.

Sony colors are too soft. Canon has too sharp. Both looks artificial to me.

Olympus or Panasonic all the way !

I don't know your decision. But this "nightmare black" is not ny taste really. I liked to see a gray top plate as in gx7.

But white one is a beauty. Definite choice.
