An Olympus Cameras
- Compact as XZ-10- Raw capable- Sharp F 1.8 zoom or sharper (F 0.95 !!!!) single focal length (24 or 35mm ) Zuiko optic- Has to have at least swivel screen or hot shue, while has built in flash ! (as in GM1 of GF7)- Underwater housing and stylish (yet affordable) leather/copper accessories. - Useful video (by built in IS or 4k or something else which is useful!)- Around 499-699 €£$
That would be an awesome replacement for my XZ-1, even I own a GM1! I would buy it.
As an amateur (who can't make a dime from his photography.), I got difficulties to understand companies' approaches.
Blackmagic Design; Amazingly small, M43 mouthed, all singing all dancing camera for 1K great price!!! But for pro's (software wise)! You should spend 1hours on recording and 1,5 hours for audio editing and another 2 hours for heavne knows what settings... Long story short; I don't want to make 30 mins editing for 5mins footage!
Canon; Amazing all round package, not a huge sensor yet 4k! Has a new promising codec(for me only codec is jpeg!) ! Called "Amateur stuff" by price tag of 2,5K .... Seriously ?
Canon, please do something for the price (it can be Swedish Kronor by the same number! Instead of dollars it euros) Blackmagic Design; please allow us to buy your product! Enable it for dumb hobby photographers for little less software trouble. (like a go pro!) Thanks.
justmeMN: Small-sensor superzooms sell, because they can do something that cellphones can't, in a small package.
.... like stalking neighbours? :)
Ben O Connor: Sony tries to say to those, who owns the old hotshue model with optional evf
Man, that optional evf was more expensive than most 32" TELEVISIONS!!!!!!
I was mentioning HX50 & optional evf. I bet evf would fit on different bodies as well, but just does not fit to the same bill with that camera :)
Now its more logical layout. However, that sensor is pretty small for my taste even it's pocketable in year 2015 A.D.

As an enthusiast photographer, I kinda have no use for this camcorder. However after I watched this video;
I kinda fell in love with it. First of all it uses M43, more importantly its tiny (as my gm1). And as long as I keep watching it shows that, they got solution to individual problems.-using m43 mouth-small dimensions-controls ease of use-connectors-battery and its endurance
Just amazing! A small and minimalist camcorder yet surprisingly sophisticated. (which is not for home vidoegraphers...) and the best part its 1K $£€!!!! Its pretty affordable.
Finally it's coming! Could not wait anymore ;)
Finally; something awesome from Canon. So awesome that I won't complain this time such as
- Buuuu no evf/ovh !!!- I hate it, it has Small crappy sensor- meh! Small zoom range!- huh! Slow lens...
Man, Look at that!!! This has Hasselblad ergonomics! IS for FullHD!! And many other goodies!
I seriously wish that it dies not have slow response times like the aps-C sensor Canon compacts. Congratulations Canon, you finally impressed me.
nerd2: So MF 20mm 1.8 equivalent for $1250 and 586gr? Nikon 20mm 1.8g weighs 357gr, has AF, costs $500 less....
I love to read "my camera beats your camera!" comments, and "No! Because my camera beats your camera !!!!" replies :))
All you folks make my day :)
Cheapest set achieved for landscape photographers (architecture, various engineering, etc.)
EM-5II + 10,5 F O.95 Voightlander+ Dead steady tripod!
Total of 2.500€, worth every dime.
What I see is;
Sony need some cash.
Its a beautiful camera with rotating screen. I did not like it on GF7.
But as a GM1 owner, it has no built-in IS, has smaller sensor, still more expensive!!!!
Maybe UW series of 1" series would be useful for ruggedness sake, but all others... I don't feel it.
There are two deals;
- Make something new.- Make the something old smaller.
But in X30
- They "fake" something new!- They made something old "Bigger!" :)
Ben O Connor: Very well reviewed! This is ridiculously big for a cam made in 2014 by this sensor size! It would be an awesome machinery by an APS-C sensor.
Fuji, belongs to "film" ! Its the age of "SENSORS" ;)
Well, have you seen LX100 in real life ? Wake up bro. Its afternoon here ;)

Thanks a lot for your votes.
A classic camera; not by outlook but also sensor size!
Its so "last season" compare to D750, more expensive than D7000/71000, and still has something inside of it called "mirror" !!! If its OVF sake, well Pentax has the best of all at that crop. Don't tell me its "burst rate sake", coz better burst at smilar sensor sized NEX cameras of Sony.
Hopefully final image from this camera is good, other than that, who would bother buying one!
Ben O Connor: First releasing the "High Quality Expensive optics" (35mm F 1.4) then releasing mediocre optics but "faster autofocusing" one! (35mm F 2.0)
Interesting order. Seems like all camera company has its own tactics to juice off their customers!
Well, in MFT world; they fist release the crappy one... Then they releases better versions- Olmypus 17mm F2.8 pancake,Olympus 17mm F 1.8, Leica 15mm F 1,7- Olympus 45mm F1,8, leica 42,5 mm F 1,4 and soon cheaper but built in IS 42,5mm F 1,7
I find it rather more logical. They markets like "Look bro, we are improving your final image!" And it makes it sell.. But Fuji... Its not even film anymore... Its Fuji ;)
The biggest light saber ever made! very cool, I bet you have put a welding class front of it! I would not believe any ND filter would cope with direct sunlight even at sun set!
Great idea & image
