I don't use Presets, but the answer to that is no... filters aren't much different.

What IS different is the amount of detail, color spectrum, DR, control of DOF, Shutter speed, ISO, etc,...

This is that high art form using "camera phones". Images don't just "follow". "Talk" is much more "artsy".
