  • To put this price in perspective, for the folks who insist it's disproportionately priced: I was about to spend $1700 on a GH4 and $900 on a 12-35mm (24-70mm) f/2.8 lens with NO intention of ever...

  • LOL. You're way off the mark.

  • Actually, the crop factor effects the apparent depth of field, but it doesn't effect the exposure really. The lens is as bright as the f1.7-2.8 markings say, just with a deeper field, which can be...

  • I'd go with the Tascam. Either way, be wary of hype. :T

  • You don't need a surround sound settup just because you want to somehow represent the dimension of the space. You could just go with a good stereo setup.

As for this, I recommend a LensHopper,...

  • Genuine Inquiry: Why do you need flash with such a bright lens and capable sensor?

I imagine it's about subject isolation, since it's not probably not primarily about light gathering. .-.

  • Using the wifi functionality will help.

  • Yeah, they didn't shrink the sensor. They just use a smaller area of it.

  • Yeah, they redesign the sensor with fewer pixels. They just use a smaller area of it.

  • It's a 24-70 equivalent f/1.7-2.8, and they were foolish enough to use engineers in charge instead of wizards. Now it's only MUCH smaller than any other similar lens, instead of WAY smaller. :T

  • GX7's sensor. GH4's processor.

  • *Puts bidding paddle down* *Hangs head in defeat*

  • Almost every report I've read has mentioned great AF, because this uses Panasonic's DFD technique. Have you ONLY looked on DPReview? o_o
