LG releases Optimus G Pro in Korea

0
We look forward to bringing you a hands-on of the new LG Optimus G Pro at next week's Mobile World Congress.

Just a week before the giant Mobile World Congress smartphone convention in Barcelona, LG has released its Optimus G Pro device in Korea. The latest from LG has a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p display and is powered by a 3,140mAh battery.

The new Optimus G Pro has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera—both of which can record video simultaneously with “dual recording.” The resulting video is a picture-in-picture experience.

LG is promoting  another camera feature in the Optimus G Pro called “virtual reality” panorama. This feature sounds identical to Google’s Photo Sphere and is advertised as allowing “shots of entire horizontal and vertical environments for a full 360° view.” The Optimus G Pro also includes upgraded standard LG apps: QSlide, Live Zooming and QuickMemo.

The Optimus G Pro will have a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built in memory in addition to a microSD slot that can hold an additional 32GB. It will come with Android’s Jelly Bean operating system, version 4.1.2.

We were excited to report about the Optimus G Pro in January and we look forward to getting a hands-on at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Spain.
