Facebook adds photo filters too

5
Facebook's recent iOS app update description didn't look all that exciting ...
... and didn't mention the addition of 14 filters for your photos.

Facebook's latest iOS app update includes 14 Instagram-esque photo filter options, though the version 5.1 update notes never mentioned the change, as TechCruch pointed out. Simply tap the magic wand tool when uploading your image to see familiar filters that boost contrast, modify tone or create a black and white version.

The news comes just days after Twitter employees told The New York Times photo filters are pending for its mobile applications.

The Facebook update also allows for multi-photo upload, letting you pick and choose from photos on your device by checking or unchecking which to share.

As Facebook and Twitter get smarter, will Instagram remain the social photo-sharing app of choice? Of course, it's making moves to improve as well, with web profiles announced yesterday

Cool! Now your picture can look just like mine, we can all be the same, let's take away individuality yay~~~
Which, makes those with taste and originality stand out that much more, so it's great in that regard.

Haven't checked it out yet, but hopefully it includes the most necessary "filter," a software fill flash to brighten up those dark shots. They should try to emulate PerfectlyClear ... which does a great job of lifting shadows

These filters have just about reached critical mass. Soon everyone will tire of them and they will be just a passing fad.
