Sony launches another smartphone case for QX lens cameras

Sony is offering a more stable way to hold the QX lenses on its Xperia Z smartphones with a specialized case, now available for the Z Ultra.

Sony's QX lens cameras offer improved imaging capabilities for iOS and Android smartphones in a separate wifi-connected unit. The QX lenses attach to your smartphone with an adjustable clamp, but they have a tendency to rest on your phone's sleep/wake or volume buttons. Sony's smartphone cases for both the Xperia Z, Z1 and now for the 6.4-inch Z Ultra allow the QX lenses to directly attach to the case instead of gripping the outsides of the phone.

The new Xperia Z Ultra case, according to Engadget, will set you back HK$238 (about $30), with the QX 10 and QX100 costing $250 and $500, respectively. It will be available next month in Hong Kong. There is no word yet on whether it will make its way to other markets or if Sony is planning on making cases for other devices.
