Open call invites photographers to IPA Quarterly exhibition

1 (IPA) has announced an open call for photographic art for The IPA Quarterly.  The inaugural issue, launched in partnership with ProCamera, will showcase selected images online and at IPA’s hometown gallery, the Santa Monica Art Studios in Santa Monica, California.

Deadline for entries is August 31, 2013.

Selected works from the juried exhibition will be on display October 1-31 at SMAS, which also housed last year's LA Mobile Arts Festival, the largest exhibition of mobile art and mobile photography to date.

“It doesn’t matter whether a person is an amateur or a professional. It doesn’t matter where on the planet he or she lives. What matters is the quality and creativity of the photography,” says IPA co-founder Nathaniel Park. “The goal of the IPA Quarterly is to showcase regularly the works of leading contemporary photographers from this growing global community.”

All photographic processes and subjects, shot on any type of camera, color or black and white, will be considered.

Somewhat of a rip off in that you can ONLY enter through the Pro Camera app. That costs $4.99. It's misleading to suggest that there is no entry fee. There are plenty of online exhibition entry robots like CafePress that could have been used. If this is just a sales promo by Pro Camera I wish they'd be honest enough to simply say so.
