The Sony QX10 in action, cyborg style

18

Ever since we told you about the smartphone-controlled Sony QX10 and QX100 cameras/lenses, we've been eager to see what users might do with them.

There's plenty of potential for ingenuity here, as the 18-megapixel QX10 10X zoom lens and 20-megapixel QX100 3.6X zoom lens can clip on to a mobile device, or be controlled remotely from your smartphone. And while the results are just starting to trickle in on Flickr and the like, we've got to hand it to Phil Nickinson, editor in chief of Android Central, for coming up with the most creative, albeit silly, application of the technology we've seen thus far: the Sony QX10 cyborg lens.

Phil Nickinson, editor in chief of Android Central, shows us one way of using the Sony QX10.

To those of you who keep asking for RAW in these cameras;

Think about whi these cameras are being marketed towards. Smartphone photographers looking for better quality than what is already in their phone.

Do you think they even know what RAW is? And I dont mean people who already have some experience shooting other cameras. Im talking about teenagers, older adults, etc.

surely he needs a google glass on the right eye to see what the left 'bionic' eye is capturing?

I suspect the lens is still too heavy. Would need a stronger sunglasses or mask for best effect. Not pointing down, etc.
