Tintype takes your mobile photography back in time

4
Tintype is now available for iOS.

There's another app on the market that will help take your mobile photography back in time — way back.

Tintype mimics the photographic process of the 1850s, giving the appearance of a very narrow depth of field and heavy textures.

It seems we're seeing a trend toward this new old-school look. We also just told you about Koloid, an app inspired by 19th century wet plate collodion photography. But Hipstamatic did it first with their Tintype SnapPak released in December.

Tintype is free with a $0.99 upgrade option. Learn more about the wet plate collodian tintype process in the video below.

I should program a macro that posts the same message every single time, just to spare me the effort...
I'll try good ol' BASIC...

10 CLS
20 PRINT "No Android?"
END

Leave it up to the professionals to make a great looking video. It's always inspiring and a great article as well.

That video was interesting.
The app is more of the same.
(But I must admit that Koloid is corny fun.)
