Instagram update adds horizontal capture

You can now shoot in landscape mode using the latest version of Instagram for iOS.

In a seemingly never-ending game of one-upmanship between Instagram and Vine, the former app — which only recently implemented a video mode — has tapped Vine on the shoulder once more. With the latest Instagram update, available for iOS today (no words about the equivalent for Android), stills and video can now be captured while holding your iPhone in landscape mode.

The Cinema image stabilization feature that came with the initial video implementation for the rear camera is also now available for the front-facing camera.

With version 4.0.2 Instagram also promises "many other improvements and bug fixes."

You can already take a picture sideways and then rotate afterwards. How is this different?
